By definition, an anniversary is an opportunity to look back and reflect on past achievements. It’s difficult to imagine that 40 years have passed since Terumo first launched the innovative Capiox® line of oxygenators. In 1982, with the unveiling of Capiox II, perfusionists were introduced to something they had never before seen; the world’s first hollow fiber oxygenator, which simulated the gas exchange inside the human lung.
Over the following four decades, Terumo has continued to create new products that are designed to meet the constantly evolving needs of the healthcare community – while still providing the same reliable performance on which critically ill patients have grown to rely.
